Employment Classification: This position is offered as a fixed-term contract of 40 hours per week for a program duration of 10 to 15 business days.
Contract Renewal: The agreement may be subject to renewal at the Company’s discretion, based on business needs and performance.

JOB SUMMARY
At CI Institute of Nursing, we're seeking an LVN Instructor to play a pivotal role in our transformative journey. As an LVN Instructor, you'll be at the forefront of reshaping how we educate and prepare nursing assistants. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Instruction: Deliver engaging and informative virtual classroom and clinical instruction to CNA students.

Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the curriculum development team to create relevant and up-to-date training materials.

Assessment: Evaluate student progress through exams, practical assessments, and clinical evaluations.

Mentoring: Serve as an advisor and mentor to students, offering guidance on academic progress, career planning, and professional development. Help students navigate challenges and achieve their educational and career goals.

Clinical Oversight: Supervise students during clinical rotations, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.

Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends and educational best practices to enhance teaching effectiveness.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and evaluations.

Communication: Foster open communication with students, staff, and management to address any concerns or issues promptly.

Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods.

Collaboration: Work closely with faculty, administrative staff, and healthcare professionals to coordinate educational activities, improve program quality, and address students' needs.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and state nursing board regulations. Participate in program evaluation and accreditation processes as required.

Maintain posted office hours.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The work environment typically includes classroom settings, simulation labs, and clinical environments in healthcare facilities. The position may require standing for extended periods during teaching and supervising clinical practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with a current license in the state of California.

Director of Staff Development (DSD) certification required
-
Minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching CNA students in a state-approved Nurse Assistant Training Program (NATP)
-
Must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience as a licensed vocational nurse or registered nurse.

One of the two years must be in providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in an acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, home care facility, home care, hospice care, or other long-term care setting.

With either:
-
One year of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing; or
-
24 hours of continuing education courses in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing. Within six months of employment and prior to teaching a certification program. These must either be courses approved by the Board of Registered Nursing or Courses administered by an accredited educational institution.

Previous teaching or mentoring experience preferred but not required.

Ability to teach in classroom, clinical settings, and online.

Current knowledge of nursing education standards.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

WORK HOURS

Typical work hours will be Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Occasional after-hours availability is required.
