Job DescriptionPort 51 Marketing ManagerRole Overview
The Marketing Manager will lead the strategy, execution, and performance of all marketing initiatives for Port 51 Lending, a leading SBA non-bank lender. This individual will serve as the company’s primary marketing resource, responsible for increasing brand awareness, supporting business development efforts, and driving measurable business growth through creative, technology-enabled marketing initiatives.
This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate is highly proficient with marketing technology, CRM platforms, digital marketing tools, and analytics, while also being comfortable creating content, managing campaigns, designing marketing collateral, supporting sales initiatives and tracking return on investment (ROI). The Marketing Manager will work closely with leadership and Business Development Officers (BDO’s) to strengthen Port 51’s market presence and expand referral relationships.
Brand & Marketing Strategy
- Develop and execute the annual marketing plan in alignment with company goals and budget.
- Identify new opportunities to increase Port 51’s visibility, brand recognition, and market presence.
- Create innovative marketing campaigns that support business growth and generate measurable results.
- Monitor competitor activity, industry trends, and emerging marketing opportunities to keep Port 51 positioned as a leader in SBA lending.
- Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all marketing channels.
Sales & Business Development Support
- Partner directly with BDO’s to develop marketing strategies that increase their visibility and strengthen referral relationships.
- Create customized marketing materials, email campaigns and sales collateral to support business development efforts.
- Collaborate with BDO’s to promote successful transactions, customer success stories and thought leadership.
- Identify opportunities to expand Port 51’s presence among referral partners, financial professionals and small business communities.
Marketing Technology & Analytics
- Serve as the primary administrator for Salesforce Marketing and related marketing technology platforms.
- Leverage CRM data, marketing automation tools, AI, and digital platforms to improve campaign effectiveness and marketing efficiency.
- Execute targeted marketing campaigns using Salesforce and other marketing technologies.
- Track leads, campaign performance, referral activity, website traffic, social media engagement, and other key performance indicators.
- Build dashboards and reports that measure marketing effectiveness and provide actionable insights.
- Measure and report ROI on marketing initiatives while making recommendations to optimize future campaigns.
- Continuously evaluate and implement new marketing technologies that improve productivity and business results.
Content & Thought Leadership
- Develop and execute a content strategy that positions Port 51 as an industry leader in SBA lending.
- Create thought leadership articles, educational content, case studies, videos and social media content.
- Produce content for LinkedIn, the company website, email campaigns, and other marketing channels.
- Stay current on SBA regulations, lending trends, and market developments to create timely, relevant content.
Digital & Website Management
- Manage the company website, including ongoing updates, enhancements, and redesign projects.
- Partner with website developers to implement new functionality and improve the user experience.
- Optimize website performance, SEO, and conversion opportunities.
Design & Creative Execution
- Design marketing assets for digital campaigns, social media, presentations, events and the company website.
- Create visually compelling graphics and marketing materials that strengthen the Port 51 brand.
- Develop brochures, one-pagers, presentations, loan program materials, and other sales enablement resources.
- Utilize design tools such as Figma, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite to create high-quality marketing assets.
Marketing Operations
- Manage the marketing calendar, timelines, and day-to-day execution of all marketing initiatives.
- Coordinate with vendors, agencies, developers and internal stakeholders.
- Manage branded merchandise, business cards, promotional materials, and new hire swag.
- Ensure marketing projects are completed on time and within budget.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of progressive marketing experience, preferably within financial services, banking or commercial lending.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, marketing strategy, branding and campaign management.
- Demonstrated experience using Salesforce Marketing and CRM platforms.
- Experience leveraging marketing technology, automation tools, AI, and analytics to improve marketing performance.
- Experience supporting a sales organization through marketing initiatives and sales enablement.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure campaign effectiveness and marketing ROI.
- Website management experience, including working directly with developers.
- Graphic design experience using Figma, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
- Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
