**Office Based Lab and Clinic Nurse - NO WEEKENDS - NO CALL**
**Mon-Thursday 7:00am-5:30pm. Some Fridays** Looking for closing and opening shift flexibility
Please apply to join our team. Office based lab where outpatient vascular procedures are performed. Looking for individuals to work in the Cath Lab, Pre/Post Op, and Office/Clinic. The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for the management and delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process. This position requires care of the adult and geriatric patient, in an outpatient procedure/surgical setting, and general nursing care in a clinic/medical office setting. Must be a team player and willing to work in various roles within the lab and clinic.
Responsibilities includes, but not limited to:
- Assessment/re-assessments
- Development of the plan of care
- Implementation of appropriate patient care interventions
- Evaluation of appropriate patient care interventions
- Supervises and coordinates other licensed and non-licensed personnel in the provision of care to patients as assigned
- Provides guidance and mentorship to non-licensed personnel, as appropriate
- Operates all equipment efficiently in the Cath Lab department and clinic setting to include blood analysis, injectors, cautery, electro physiology and ablation equipment, defibrillator, laser and all other equipment utilized in the Cath Lab suite.
- Trouble-shoots and assesses equipment failure and provides a backup plan when needed.
- Assures that all supplies are available as needed for each patient.
- Completes all documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history
- Collects and records nursing assessment and interventions
- Reviews and reports results of health status assessment and physical examination, pertinent laboratory data, radiographic data to provider.
- Facilitates clinical operations and patient care such as but not limited to - Management of patient medication refill requests, scheduling appointments/consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests, referrals, and future appointments.
- Triage patient phone calls as needed and documentation of relevant information, medication and history reconciliations. Facilitating communication between patient and office.
- Providing clinical/clerical support for insurance authorizations/submissions
- Uses strategies and available resources for problem-solving for patients, family, and staff. Recognizes that resources are limited and considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and efficiency in planning and delivering patient care.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues and community.
- Supply/device ordering if required or needed
- Learn and perform ABIs/Segmental Pressures; specimen collections, and assisting healthcare professionals during clinic
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Texas.
- Current BLS certification upon hire
- Current ACLS Certification upon hire
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Required Physical Demands:
- Keyboarding/Dexterity: frequently, up to 2/3 of the time
