Location: Los Angeles, CA (Relocation available for the right candidate)
Compensation: $138,320 - $144,560
Employment Type: Full-time
Eligibility: Open to candidates eligible to work in the U.S.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 12+ years of building design experience.
- Education: Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from a U.S. university.
- License: SE License (required).
Technical Expertise
- Strong experience with Type I construction (steel and concrete structures).
- Ability to design and detail large, complex structural systems across multiple market sectors.
- Proven ability to lead teams of engineers and BIM designers.
- Strong track record in seismic evaluation and retrofit design (ASCE 41 is a plus).
- Experience with DSA and HCAI/OSHPD is a plus.
Leadership Business Development
- Recognized as a leader in the industry with established client relationships.
- Strong business acumen and ability to develop and maintain new clients.
- Ability to act as a decisive leader and mentor within the firm.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Specialized expertise in a specific technical area or market sector.
- Experience working on high-rise, commercial, aviation, healthcare, and institutional projects.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large-scale structural engineering projects from concept through completion.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high-quality project delivery.
- Oversee project teams (engineers, BIM designers) and ensure successful execution of designs.
- Provide technical leadership in complex structural systems, particularly in Type I construction.
- Contribute to business development efforts, securing new projects and expanding the firm’s portfolio.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and consultants to ensure innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Mentor and develop future leaders within the firm.
