Job Description
Established heavy-civil and municipal construction company in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area (LA, Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange Counties) is seeking a Construction Project Engineer.
General Requirements
-
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (Required*)
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other applicable software programs
-
Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications
-
Self-motivated and proactive; able to accomplish tasks without direct oversight
Duties & Responsibilities
-
Assist in the development of cost estimates
-
Review plans and other technical documents
-
Perform accurate material takeoffs using paper plans, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and other software
-
Create, manage, and track RFIs
-
Assist the Project Manager/Superintendent in creating and distributing the project schedule
-
Submit subcontractor submittals to A/E for approval
-
Assist Project Manager/Owner in obtaining building permits
-
Coordinate project change-order management, creation, and negotiation
-
Support site safety documentation and coordination
-
Assist Project Accountant with monthly subcontractor billings and pay applications
Preferred Experience
-
1+ year of experience as a Junior Estimator, Project Engineer, or Assistant Construction Manager

Experience in Commercial & Municipal projects including:

Underground Utilities
-
Street Works
-
Excavation
-
Grading
-
Concrete Structures
-
Compensation: $60,000 - $90,000 per year
