Provide critical care as an experienced Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room, delivering high-quality, patient-centered services during night shifts. Position Type: Contract
Schedule:
- Nights, 7 PM to 7 AM
- Rotating weekends, up to 2 per 4-week schedule
- Floating to support other units as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and implement patient care tailored to the age and needs of ER patients
- Maintain adherence to quality and safety standards in a fast-paced environment
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff
- Assist with patient transfers, sitter duties, and CNA support as necessary
- Adapt swiftly to emergencies and fluctuating workload demands
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Current New Mexico RN license or valid Compact state license
- BLS, ACLS, PALS (or ENPC), and TNCC or ATCN certifications required
- CPI or equivalent certification preferred
- Proven ability to provide age-appropriate care and respect patient rights
- Experience with bloodborne pathogen protocols and emergency/crisis management
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to handle prolonged standing, walking, and physical patient care activities
- Strength and dexterity to reposition and transfer patients safely
- Visual and auditory acuity adequate to perform clinical tasks accurately
