Ready to join a U.S. Best Managed Company–caliber operation? A leading grain processing facility is seeking a Process Operator to support the manufacturing of grain byproducts. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual with mechanical aptitude who thrives in an industrial production environment.
This position is designed and intended to be performed in Washington, Indiana.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain proper operating condition of all processing equipment
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues; submit work orders for mechanical or electrical repairs as needed
- Perform housekeeping duties to ensure a safe and clean work area
- Work with minimal supervision to maintain process flow and meet or exceed production schedules
- Maintain accurate daily logs related to production, quality, and environmental impacts
- Pull product samples and perform quality checks using calibrated equipment or measurement tools
- Coordinate with laboratory personnel to ensure samples are delivered promptly and results meet specifications
- Perform all work in compliance with safety and environmental rules and regulations
- Report potential or actual incidents using established incident reporting procedures
- Assist with handling, storage, and movement of finished product through warehouse and packaging areas
- Support railcar and truck loading and unloading operations
- Assist other production operators throughout the plant as needed
- Perform additional duties to support overall plant operations
Experience & Qualifications
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (heat, cold, dust, and dirt)
- Willingness to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights, and enter confined spaces
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel/composite toe footwear, hearing protection, and respirator)
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
