Description

Ready to join a U.S. Best Managed Company–caliber operation? A leading grain processing facility is seeking a Process Operator to support the manufacturing of grain byproducts. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual with mechanical aptitude who thrives in an industrial production environment.

This position is designed and intended to be performed in Washington, Indiana.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain proper operating condition of all processing equipment
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues; submit work orders for mechanical or electrical repairs as needed
  • Perform housekeeping duties to ensure a safe and clean work area
  • Work with minimal supervision to maintain process flow and meet or exceed production schedules
  • Maintain accurate daily logs related to production, quality, and environmental impacts
  • Pull product samples and perform quality checks using calibrated equipment or measurement tools
  • Coordinate with laboratory personnel to ensure samples are delivered promptly and results meet specifications
  • Perform all work in compliance with safety and environmental rules and regulations
  • Report potential or actual incidents using established incident reporting procedures
  • Assist with handling, storage, and movement of finished product through warehouse and packaging areas
  • Support railcar and truck loading and unloading operations
  • Assist other production operators throughout the plant as needed
  • Perform additional duties to support overall plant operations


Experience & Qualifications

  • Computer proficiency
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (heat, cold, dust, and dirt)
  • Willingness to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights, and enter confined spaces
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel/composite toe footwear, hearing protection, and respirator)
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds


Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
