JOB SUMMARY:
The Market Lab Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the primary/family care practice laboratories under the direction of the Lab Director and/or Technical Consultant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Organizes and directs the daily activities of the laboratory
- Perform daily maintenance and quality control procedures and maintenance.
- Performs phlebotomy and routine laboratory tests
- Operate diagnostic equipment to administer routine tests
- Investigate and follow up on issues, problems and complaints as brought up by lab staff, management, and clinical staff
- Complete monitoring, record keeping, and reporting for all waived testing.
- See that all laboratory procedures are followed, and testing is performed within compliance
- Manage human resources: recruit, discipline, orient and train new staff members.
- Evaluate staff for performance under the direction of the lab director.
- Schedule and assign staff as needed.
- Inventory and stock supplies and reagents.
- Adhere to all standards of care, Code of Conduct, and HIPAA Compliance
- Must be able to float to all locations as necessary.
- Assist with other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- High School graduate or equivalent education required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Lab Tech program preferred
- Current Basic Life Support card from the American Heart Association, prior to hire date
- 2+ years working experience in a clinical practice setting or laboratory required
- 2+ years Supervisory experience required
- Demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate, prioritize, and facilitate many on-going tasks
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Professional appearance
