Position Overview:

The Human Resources Compliance Specialist plays a key role in supporting compliant employment and compensation practices across the organization. This position is responsible for reviewing and maintaining compliance of new hire job offers, employment agreements, and mortgage loan originator (MLO) compensation agreements. The role partners closely with the Retail Compensation Director, Human Resources, internal stakeholders, and internal and external legal counsel to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour requirements, as well as applicable mortgage-related compensation regulations.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Review, draft, and maintain compliant new hire offer letters and employment agreements in accordance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Support compliance related to state wage laws, pay transparency requirements, and exempt/non-exempt classifications
  • Review and maintain MLO compensation agreements in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, including Regulation Z, as applicable
  • Partner with the Retail Compensation Director on compensation-related compliance initiatives
  • Coordinate with internal and external legal counsel on employment and compensation-related matters
  • Monitor changes in employment law and regulatory guidance and recommend updates
  • Maintain accurate documentation supporting employment and compensation compliance
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory examinations
  • Provide guidance to HR and business partners on compliant practices

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of employment law including wage and hour regulations
  • Experience reviewing employment agreements or compensation documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to translate legal requirements into business processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of professionalism and confidentiality

Education:

Bachelors degree in human resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or related field preferred.
