Location:
Newark International Airport – Newark AirTrain Project
Salary Range: $80,000 to $125,000 (commensurate with experience)

Position Overview
Our client, through its joint venture TPOG JV, is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer to join the team on the Newark AirTrain project located at Newark International Airport. This role will report directly to the Project Manager and play a key part in the cost control and change management processes of this significant infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and team to input, monitor, and implement the JDE Quantity Book

  • Draft and review letters/notices in coordination with daily project demands

  • Assess and document impacts of all owner notices for internal team review

  • Develop and manage subcontractor agreements and contractual language

  • Maintain tracking and execution of all project change requests from initiation through to completion

  • Oversee the subcontract Change Order Request (COR) process, including cost and quantity evaluations, estimating, negotiations, and preparation for review

  • Manage subcontractor payment processes and ensure all required documentation is in place

  • Administer the owner change directive process with full cost/quantity evaluation and estimating duties

  • Prepare monthly Claims Cost Reports

  • Generate internal and external cost reporting for all Potential Change Orders (PCOs)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in cost engineering, cost analysis, or financial management on infrastructure or building construction projects

  • Proficiency in Procore, HCSS estimating tools, Excel, and Primavera P6 (or similar platforms)

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Prior experience with heavy construction projects

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
