The Senior Mechanical Engineer should be capable of working independently with limited supervision to complete both small and large projects and may serve as a discipline representative in client meetings. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external clients is required. - Candidate must be well organized, be able to demonstrate critical thinking to quickly recognize issues and be part of the solution. - Have knowledge of the ASHRAE standards, NFPA and ICC codes. - Have experience with analysis and layout of Plumbing and/or HVAC systems, hydronic piping, medical gas, air distribution and associated products and materials. - Serve as technical advisor for team. - Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables. - Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings. - Prepare technical specification sections. - Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements. - Provide technical support and mentoring to junior engineers. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications : BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience on complex mechanical and/or plumbing design projects such as Healthcare facility, Laboratory or similar - Thorough working knowledge of relevant engineering software: REVIT, CAD, load calculation software, Excel - Construction phase experience: submittal reviews, on-site inspections, RFIs, change orders, etc. - Plumbing and Medical Gas design experience for hospitals and labs - Experience preparing proposals, interviewing, communicating with clients
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Candidate can sit in Chicago, Detroit or Minneapolis.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
