The a PASSIVATION TECHNICIAN will perform various functions such as washing and visually ensuring customer required finishes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:

  • Accurately passivate parts as required while following customer, ASTM, environmental and safety requirements.
  • Check system prior to passivating. This includes heated tanks, Ph and density levels.
  • Load parts in baskets and move through passivation tanks per customer and ASTM guidelines, and per company passivation Work Instruction.
  • Dry parts with clean compressed air or use clean low lint towels.
  • Examine/visually inspect cleaned parts to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Perform Copper Sulfate test after passivation.
  • Routine maintenance including emptying, cleaning, and refilling tanks as necessary per company passivation Work Instruction.
  • Operate equipment such as a tumbler and use hand tools such as deburring knives, chamfer tools, sheet sandpaper and files to finish parts.
  • Help maintain a production flow schedule for the timely completion of each project.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of manufacturing experience is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Exceptional problem solving and decision making skills and the ability to think independently.
  • Must pay attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of hazardous chemicals.
  • Ability to read blueprints is a plus.
  • Must be able to work in other areas on an as needed basis.
  • Show initiative in work by being a self starter, suggesting new ideas for completing a job, giving input as to how to improve the efficiency of a job, and organizing work time in order to complete jobs in a timely matter.

Monday – Friday 7am – 3:30pm

Non-exempt (hourly)
