Construction Project Engineer

Job Description

Position Overview:

Ozanne Construction Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer with at least five years of relevant experience in commercial or institutional construction. The ideal candidate will support the project team in planning, coordination, and execution to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires excellent technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with subcontractors, clients, and internal team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the overall management and administration of assigned projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Prepare, review, and manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change orders
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and information
• Track project progress, budgets, and schedules in coordination with the Project Manager
• Participate in onsite meetings, inspections, and quality control processes
• Maintain accurate documentation including project logs, meeting minutes, and reports
• Collaborate with field supervision and operations staff

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Project Engineer or similar role within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, and industry practices
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, MS Project)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

OSHA 30-hour certification preferred
