Job DescriptionLaboratory / Clinical Lab Scientist

Location: Flushing, New York
Job Type: Contract (59 Days)
Pay Rate: $32.00 - $38.00/hour (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform laboratory testing, analyze patient specimens, and ensure accurate and timely reporting of diagnostic results. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical laboratory expertise, experience with laboratory information systems, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a related scientific field.

• Active New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (NYS DOE).

• Experience utilizing Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and electronic medical record platforms.

• Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures and quality assurance practices.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Medical Technology or a related scientific field.

• ASCP Certification (MLS/MT).

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing on patient specimens.

• Analyze, verify, and report laboratory results accurately and efficiently.

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.

• Follow quality control and quality assurance procedures.

• Document and report test results in accordance with laboratory standards.

• Utilize Laboratory Information Systems and electronic documentation platforms.

• Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and laboratory safety standards.

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and laboratory personnel regarding patient testing and results.

• Assist with laboratory workflow optimization and process improvement initiatives.

• Ensure proper specimen handling, processing, storage, and chain of custody.
