Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Horizontal and Vertical Bolt Forging Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a horizontal bolt forging press to produce high-quality forged bolts and fasteners. The ideal candidate will have experience in metal forging, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to workplace safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities/Skills:
• Set up and operate a horizontal bolt forging press to manufacture bolts according to specifications.
• Monitor machine performance, making adjustments to ensure optimal efficiency and product quality.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and dimensional specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of forging equipment to minimize downtime.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to ensure accurate production.
•Inspect parts for conformance to required tolerances using caliper veneers micrometers and rulers.
• Work collaboratively with quality control and maintenance teams to enhance production output.
Requirements:
• Previous experience operating a horizontal bolt forging press or similar forging equipment preferred.
• Strong understanding of metal forging processes and equipment operation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience with machine maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift 50-60 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to OSHA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in hot or cold forging operations.
• Knowledge of tooling and die changes for forging equipment.
• Forklift or crane operation certification (a plus).
