Community College Preparatory Academy is accepting applications for Adjunct Academic Interventionist (Part time) on a continuous basis. Applications will be reviewed periodically based on the student enrollment needs. Classes are generally in the evening from 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm, however this may change based on enrollment and /or faculty needs.

**Join Our Team as an Adjunct Academic Interventionist (Part time)**

JOB OVERVIEW

Interventionist Instructor, engage with academic and occupation-based content through multiple modalities imploring both andragogy and pedagogy methods for roughly 25-30 adult learners per 90-minute class sessions. The instructors work as co-facilitators providing the adult learner basic education and industry specific training required to both excel in academic assessment and certification exams. The instructors are responsible for four key functions: Facilitating Learning, Managing Learning, Student Engagement, and Organizational Engagement.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this adjunct part time role, you'll be tasked with implementing tailored math and reading intervention strategies, administering assessments, crafting personalized educational plans, and delivering direct instruction to adult learners in various settings including whole group, small group, and one-on-one sessions. Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with both the instructional and support teams to track and assess student progress effectively.

FACILITATING LEARNING

  • Prepare students to make TABE gain during their program tenure.
  • Maintain the student’s individualized learning though blended techniques.
  • Introduce new material and skills in an engaged and thoughtful manner by checking for student.
  • Understanding, supporting students as facilitators, and other related duties.
  • Use technology to blend the learning environment.
  • Facilitate opportunities that provide students to apply their learning through authentic industry-related projects and learning activities.

MANAGING LEARNING

  • Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans that align with student learning goals.
  • Review and analyze student data to inform planning for student success, based on students enrolled in the program and projected CCPREP pathway.
  • Reflect on student progress and personal practice to grow and improve.

STUDENT ENGAGEMENT

  • Build and maintain strong working and professional relationships with students.
  • Work collaboratively with Student Support Specialists to remove student barriers, follow up on attendance, as well as develop and implement student retention plans & activities.

ORGANIZATIONAL ENGAGEMENT

  • Model professionalism and organizational core values across roles and functions within the organization, thoughtfully considering personal contributions to the environment.
  • Active contribution and/or participation in external-facing CCPREP engagements (student recruitment events, organization-community engagement, and other similar activities.)
  • Actively engage with cross-team organizational efforts and committees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 or more years of experience working with adult learners in an educational setting.
  • Strong background in both Reading & Mathematics with 5 or more years of experience.
  • Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assess student needs and develop individualized educational plans.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Knowledge of best practices in math and reading intervention.
  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
  • Ability to both analyze and use data to inform instruction.
  • Experience creating student growth plans.
  • Teaching certification is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is based in Washington, D.C. and requires frequent travel within the DC Metro area and the surrounding counties, attending networking and community events, and teaching hours may vary based on need. Weekend hours (as needed)


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Able to stand for extended periods of time.

• Able to lift heavy objects on a regular basis (approximately 25 lbs.).

• Able to perform repetitive tasks with few breaks.
