CBS Food Program was founded in 2001 to provide children funds for healthy meals and snacks served in childcare centers and schools. Today we serve over thousands of children daily in childcare centers, schools, and after-school programs.

CBS Food Program is a nonprofit organization that provides Childcare Centers, After School programs, and other nonprofit children’s programs with nutritious child friendly meals at little or no cost at all. These meals can include breakfast, lunch, and snacks, or dinner and snack.

The Registered Dietitian will interact with Childcare Centers to identify nutritional needs, create menus and provide nutritional training and programing to ensure nutritional needs comply with CACFP regulations and meals are delivered in a safe and sanitary manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet with Childcare Centers to identify nutritional needs
  • Menu Plan- analyze and create menus to ensure compliance with nutrition standards, student preferences, and food cost
  • Develop and implement childcare allergy management program, including communication with parents/guardians, school staff, and healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Assist with the management and costing of the Fresh Fruit, Vegetable Program and Childcare Food Program (CACFP), ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Develop and Implement nutrition education programs for center staff, and parents/guardians.
  • Conduct regular audits of menus and food production records to ensure accuracy and compliance with nutrition standards and regulations.
  • Provide support to kitchen staff and center staff in matters related to food service prep and delivery operations.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of food and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records and reports related to menu planning, nutrition education.
  • Manage and facilitate a center advisory board.
  • Develop a Farm to Table program.
  • Identify topics, create and distribute a CBS Food Program newsletter

Qualifications

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree from a school accredited by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics’: Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition & Dietetics (ACEND).
  • Must have completed 6-12 months of ACEND approved internship & passed CDR exam.
  • Must be licensed by the Dietetic Licensing Board per state requirements.
