Employee Benefits Representative

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Representative to support our agency's group benefits department. In this role, you'll analyze plan performance, prepare competitive proposals, and collaborate with internal teams and carrier partners to deliver exceptional service and strategic insurance solutions to employer clients. This role begins onsite for training and transitions to hybrid flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze group benefit offerings and identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings
- Prepare detailed quotes for medical, dental, vision, life, and ancillary group insurance plans
- Compare pricing, benefits, and underwriting guidelines across multiple carriers
- Support renewal strategy through data-driven recommendations based on claims utilization and performance analysis
- Assist with open enrollment and lead employee education sessions
- Stay current with health insurance regulations, ACA compliance, and carrier policy changes
- Partner with sales agents, account managers, and carrier reps to ensure timely and accurate proposals
- Respond promptly to benefit-related inquiries and resolve client issues efficiently
- Collaborate on business development efforts and new client onboarding
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Health & Life Insurance License (AR, LA, OK, TX, or other applicable state) highly preferred
- 1-2+ years of experience quoting or managing group insurance plans highly preferred
- Understanding of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits highly preferred
- Proficiency in Excel required
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills

- Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously
- Trustworthy and ethical when handling sensitive or confidential data

Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base salary plus commission or bonus potential
- Full employee benefits package: health, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits, subject to a 90-day probationary period from date of hire
