Campus General Manager

Status: Full-Time
Shift: Day shift
Wage: $140,000-$165,000/yr DOE

Location: Ovation Sienna Hills | 1525 East Ovation Place, Washington, UT 84780

As Campus General Manager, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Embrace and emulate the Ovation mission statement and core values and set an example of these values for all those that interact with them.
  • Assist residents and team members to find their passion for life and pursuit of engagement within the Ovation family and create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
  • Encourage and support teamwork and empower and engage team members to create memorable moments for our residents and other team members.
  • Be active participant in community involvement and corporate social responsibility.
  • Embrace diversity and create a culture of respect for all regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, affectional preference, religion, disability, veteran status, or marital status.
  • The Campus General Manager will ensure financial performance of the community, operating within the approved P&L, meeting and exceeding expected outcomes, and company’s established operating income.
  • Ensure that all team members, residents, visitors, and the public follow the property’s established policies and procedures.
  • Represent Ovation in the community and with outside businesses in a manner representative of the Ovation professionalism as well as represent Ovation at all top-level operational meetings.
  • Foster a strong cohesive team environment that builds confidence and strong morale among staff and high staff retention.
  • Role model leadership that builds community amongst the team members, fostering a speak-up culture, where every voice is heard and listened to.
  • Build and lead a team of professionals that work in harmony to fulfill the Ovation mission for all stakeholders, namely residents, staff, owners and the greater community in which we operate.
  • Ensure that employee counseling and disciplinary action is administered fairly and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, affectional preference, religion, disability, veteran status, or marital status.
  • Delegate administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability to other team members as deemed necessary to perform their assigned duties.
  • Consult with department directors concerning the operation of their departments to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas, and/or improvement of services.

Working Conditions:

  • Works in office areas as well as throughout the property and its premises.
  • Moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Is involved with residents, family members, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions/circumstances.
  • Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.
  • Works flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays when necessary, and to keep a pulse on our 24/7 operation
  • Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
  • Will be involved in community/civic health matters/projects.
  • Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.
  • Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the work day, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
  • Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B
  • May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
  • Communicates with other department personnel.
  • Maintains a liaison with the residents, their families, support personnel, etc., to assure that the residents’ needs are continually met.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is necessary. A degree in hospitality or business management is preferred but not required.
  • Must have, as a minimum, five years in a full-service hotel, customer service or senior living general manager.
  • Must have five or more years’ experience supervising staff of 25 or more employees.
  • Experience in working with older adults.
  • Dependable vehicle for transportation.
  • Must be able to proficiently operate a computer.
  • Must possess basic computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors and the public.
  • Must be calm and levelheaded in emergencies.
  • Must be well groomed and possess ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  • Must possess the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
  • Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
  • Be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Be knowledgeable in the use of computers, data input/retrieval/output functions, etc.
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as must be willing to handle residents, staff, and visitors, based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
  • Must be able to maintain good personnel relations and employee morale.
  • Must be able to read and interpret financial records, reports, etc.
