We are seeking a highly experienced Water Heater Sales Specialist who truly understands water heaters inside and out — not just basic sales. This position requires someone with strong technical knowledge of both tank and tankless water heater systems who can confidently educate customers, diagnose issues, and recommend the correct solutions.

This is NOT an entry-level sales role. We are looking for someone who understands installation requirements, venting, sizing, code compliance, troubleshooting, and the differences between major manufacturers and systems.

Required Technical Knowledge & Experience:

• Extensive knowledge of tank and tankless water heaters
• Experience with major brands including:
  • Navien
  • A. O. Smith
  • Rheem
  • Rinnai
  • Bradford White
  • Noritz
• Understanding of:
  • Gas and electric water heater systems
  • Condensing vs. non-condensing tankless units
  • Recirculation systems
  • Expansion tanks
  • Descaling and maintenance procedures
  • Venting requirements (PVC, CPVC, Category III venting, etc.)
  • Gas sizing and gas pressure requirements
  • Combustion air requirements
  • Water pressure regulation and thermal expansion
  • Proper sizing calculations for residential systems
  • Tankless error code diagnostics and common failure points
• Familiarity with plumbing and mechanical code requirements, including:
  • T&P valve requirements
  • Earthquake strapping
  • Drain pan requirements
  • Venting clearances
  • Shut-off valve requirements
  • Sediment traps
  • Proper installation clearances
  • Code-compliant drain and relief line termination
  • Permit and inspection awareness

• Proven sales background with the ability to close jobs professionally
• Ability to explain technical information clearly to homeowners

• Ability to build customer trust and confidence
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose customer water heater concerns
• Recommend repair or replacement options
• Educate customers on system upgrades and efficiency options
• Quote and sell tank and tankless systems
• Ensure recommendations meet current plumbing code requirements
• Work closely with installation teams to ensure smooth project completion
