Purpose of the Position: The Bid Manager will oversee the entire bid process, from initial opportunity identification to final submission, ensuring bids are well-prepared, competitive, and aligned with client requirements. The Bid Manager will undertake the following tasks that include, but are not limited to, analyzing project scopes, identifying and pricing labor requirements, building an accurate bill of materials (BOM), soliciting material & services quotes from vendors and compiling complete bid packages on time. The Bid Manager must possess extensive working knowledge of how to build sites and prepare costs for preferably one or more of the following scopes: OSP, FTTH, DAS, Wireless, NSB, Mods, Small Cell, EV Charging, Generators, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Bid Planning and Strategy: Developing and implementing bid strategies, managing bid timelines, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Request for Proposal Development: Working closely with PMO to provide construction inputs on divisional or company-wide RFPs.
- Stakeholder Management: Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, sales teams, subject matter experts and vendors to compile comprehensive bid packages.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensuring that all bids maintain compliance with client requirements, technical specifications, industry standards, and company policies.
- Post-Submission Activities: Following up on submitted bids and working with internal team on awarded bids to ensure alignment on costs and vendor strategy to ensure all projects are completed within budget.
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required
Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM) are a plus but not required.
Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of Telecom/Infrastructure construction related experience.
Skills:
* Extensive knowledge of telecommunication infrastructure construction practices and requirements.
* Proficiency in reading installation specs, engineering documents, construction drawings, RF data sheet (RFDS), etc.
* Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Attention to detail and quality-oriented approach.
* Experience in bid management or a related field.
Computer Equipment and Software Requirements
Expert level experience using Microsoft office suite & Outlook; Excel and Adobe Acrobat (pdf files), digital photographs (jpeg files); willingness to learn mapping software and other applications required for the job.
