Millwright / Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
The Millwright/Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner. This role supports the continuous operation of production equipment through preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and collaboration with the maintenance team.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance repairs on production and packaging equipment.

Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.

Troubleshoot and repair systems involving bearings, power transmission (chain drives and gearboxes), motors, low-voltage electrical components, VFDs, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) and repairs on all plant and mobile equipment.

May assist with maintenance and repair of over-the-road trailers, general building systems, and other onsite equipment as needed.

Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Operate mobile equipment safely, including forklifts, front-end loaders, and yard jockeys/trailer combinations.
Safety and Administration

Comply with OSHA safety and health regulations at all times.

Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in the maintenance department.

Communicate effectively with supervisors and maintenance team members.

Administer and follow company policies as they relate to maintenance operations.

Participate in monthly safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Log work accurately using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Manage time effectively to complete scheduled tasks on time.

Support the Maintenance Manager with additional assignments and improvement initiatives as needed.
Physical Requirements
-
Exposure to varying temperatures and work environments.
-
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 60 lbs.

Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, and squat for extended periods.

Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolds, and work comfortably at heights up to 100 feet.

Spend approximately 50% of work time standing or walking, 20% kneeling, and the remainder performing other physical activities.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
-
2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance.

Strong mechanical and machinery background with exposure to high-speed production equipment.

Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Basic welding experience.
-
PLC troubleshooting ability preferred.

Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.

Must have a personal set of basic tools.

Ability to work independently and outdoors when required.
