Apply now to join our team and we will become Stronger Together.Job Purpose:We are seeking a Logistics Site Lead to oversee logistics operations for a highly active manufacturing plant. This role will be responsible for driving efficiency, managing third- and fourth-party logistics providers (3PLs/4PLs), optimizing warehouse and transportation processes, and leveraging SAP S/4HANA and Electronic Warehouse Management Systems (eWMS) to ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in plant logistics and continuous process improvement.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Own the daily ship plan: prioritize and release orders, run a daily shipping huddle with Production, Customer Service, and the warehouse.
- Work with 3PLs to carrier tendering and appointments for LTL/FTL/parcel; prevent detention and reduce dwell; monitor truck turn time.
- Work with 3PLs managing external warehouse operations, including shipment performance, physical inventory controls (cycle counts etc) and material movements
- TMS/EDI: manage SAP TM, monitor EDI 940/945/856/204/214 status and resolve failures same-day.
- Freight cost control: audit invoices, dispute accessorials, track cost per ton/order/lane, and report saves.
- Master data and labeling: maintain shipping packs, routes, staging areas, loading points; ensure customer label compliance.
- Issue response: act as the first line for ship blocks, EWM queues, HU errors, and EDI failures; escalate to IT only after triage.
- SOPs and training: create standard work, and coach warehouse and 3PL teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or plant operations (manufacturing environment strongly preferred).
- Hands-on expertise with SAP S/4HANA (MM, WM, or EWM modules required).
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS/eWMS) and transportation management processes.
- Experience managing 3PL and 4PL providers, including performance monitoring and contract negotiations.
- Proven track record of leading process improvement projects (Lean Six Sigma or similar methodology a plus).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Work Availability
Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work Monday- Friday during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
