Support a dynamic elementary classroom as a full-time paraprofessional, providing essential assistance to a student with unique learning and behavioral needs. This position is based in Newport, New Hampshire, within a supportive school environment. The role spans the school year from ASAP through June 2026, offering approximately 32.5 to 35 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one support to an elementary student diagnosed with low IQ and PTSD.
- Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques, including discrete trial training.
- Manage and respond effectively to behavioral challenges in the classroom.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to tailor interventions.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavioral observations.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven experience working in school settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in ABA, specifically with discrete trials.
- Ability to work compassionately and patiently with students facing emotional and learning difficulties.
