Job Title: Patient Financial and Eligibility Specialist

Reports To: Billing & Collections Supervisor

Location: Hybrid with 2-3 days on site at our Northpoint Omaha facility

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8-5pm MST

Compensation: $20-23/hour

Northpoint Recovery Holdings, LLC, established in 2009, is a growing, behavioral healthcare treatment platform treating adults with substance use disorder and co-occurring conditions under the Northpoint Recovery brand and adolescents with mental healthcare conditions under the Imagine by Northpoint brand. POSITION SUMMARY: As a key member of the Finance and Revenue Cycle team, the Patient Financial and Eligibility Specialist is responsible for facilitating financial responsibility communication to patients to determine the patients ability to pay and to secure repayment arrangement with patient, as well as maintaining and managing the collection and reporting for patient responsibility and private payment agreements. This position will be the primary point of contact for patients with questions or concerns related to their financial responsibility for services as well as an advocate for the patient to navigate payment arrangements. The Patient Financial and Eligibility Specialist will collaborate with local operations and admissions staff to ensure that all financial conversations are directed to them. A key deliverable of the role is ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of patient payment and support processes on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. This person will produce reporting based on their respective workflows, manage daily charge reconciliation, and provide oversight of patient responsibility collections with the intent of mitigating risk and driving standards to assist Northpoint with achieving financial results and growth goals.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Collect patient related accounts receivables
  • Collaborate with internal and external staff to ensure timely and accurate management of key revenue cycle performance expectations and challenges including: collection of patient responsibility payments, capturing accurate information, timeliness of reporting, denial prevention, unbilled amounts, etc.
  • Advocate for patients to ensure that wherever possible insurance is paying appropriately and that the patient responsibility is communicated well and agreed to collect all fees for services
  • Audit patient attendance and manage patient collection workflows
  • Assist RCM leadership by establishing processes, develop strategies to support patient collections, collecting, analyzing, and managing collection workflows
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with 42 CFR Part 2 and all other established policies, procedures and standards of care
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years experience in revenue cycle management, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Experience with healthcare EMR/billing software
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Experience with a growing company with multiple entities and geographic locations preferred
