Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A reputable K-8 school in the northern Denver suburbs is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join their team for a contract position working with students in grades K-3. This role involves leading a center-based classroom tailored for students with moderate to severe needs. The caseload currently includes up to five students, with support from two committed paraprofessionals to ensure an effective learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with state standards.
- Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, general education staff, and families.
- Monitor and document student progress, providing timely assessments and reports.
- Maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that fosters student growth and independence.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license for Special Education.
- Experience working with moderate to severe special education needs in early elementary grades.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with the ability to differentiate instruction.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with team members and families.
- Commitment to professional growth and collaborative problem-solving.
Location & Schedule:
- Position based in Aurora, Colorado, within a vibrant school community.
- Contract duration from ASAP through May 29, 2026.
