Inner Circle Agency is partnering with a dynamic, fast-growing small business with ~20 employees. They design, manufacture, and distribute specialized lake and pond equipment across North America, reaching customers through e-commerce and dealer channels. With a focus on innovation, they are actively enhancing their ERP systems to fuel continued growth - offering a hands-on, high-impact environment for the right Controller.

Role Overview:
We’re searching for a hands-on Controller with deep NetSuite expertise to stabilize, improve, and own the company’s accounting processes. This is a senior leadership role with only one direct report, ideal for a proactive Controller who is comfortable handling hands-on accounting while taking full ownership of the company’s accounting processes in NetSuite.
This is not a purely strategic position. The right person will be someone who likes to get into the details, solve operational challenges, and personally drive improvements across the accounting function. In addition, this person will oversee light HR and IT organization, including payroll and benefits administration, and coordinating with external IT consultants and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own full-cycle accounting and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

• Serve as NetSuite accounting owner and optimize workflows

• Mentor in-house accountant and act as financial advisor to leadership

• Oversee HR administration, benefits, and IT vendor relationships

• Within NetSuite: Improve workflows, reduce manual workarounds, ensure efficiency

• Partner with leadership to provide actionable financial insights for business growth

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and internal control requirements

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• 8+ years’ progressive accounting/finance experience

• 1+ year of hands-on NetSuite accounting experience (must have led improvements or optimization)

• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-heavy environment

• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills

• Local to Minneapolis or willing to relocate full-time onsite

Preferred:

• Small or mid-sized business experience

• ERP/technology process improvement experience

• CPA or CMA
