This role is designed for a pharmacist who is available to work on an as-needed basis across multiple pharmacy locations. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, dependable, and capable of quickly integrating into various team environments while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and regulatory compliance. This is a per diem, non-exempt position. Hours are not guaranteed and are based on operational needs. Ideal for pharmacists seeking a flexible schedule or supplemental income.

Job Summary:

The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners, educating patients about medications and their use, and may advise physicians and other health practitioners on the selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects of medications, and depending on the circumstance may have delegated decision-making authority for items that fall under the context of their license.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors patients’ drug therapies, advises on the safe use of medications, and informs of potential side effects.
  • Completes MTMs.
  • Dispenses medications as prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners
  • Verifies order entries, maintains records of controlled substances, changes and removes expired and/or damaged drugs from the pharmacy’s inventory.
  • Completes all clinical services provided by the pharmacy, as directed (vaccinations, blood pressure/temperature measurements, diabetes management, etc.).
  • Maintains records of patient history.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant legal procedures, regulations, and rules that regulate the pharmaceutical practice.
  • Responds to or assists PIC with audits and inspections from various regulatory agencies, as directed.
  • Management of personnel may be required in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager/PIC, as directed.

.Qualifications:

  • Valid California Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Bachelor's in pharmacy or PharmD
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as required
