About the Role:

The RN Charge Nurse plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within the healthcare facility. This position involves overseeing nursing staff, coordinating patient care activities, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. The RN Charge Nurse is responsible for managing patient flow, addressing any issues that arise during shifts, and serving as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team. Additionally, this role includes mentoring and training new nursing staff, fostering a collaborative environment, and promoting best practices in patient care. Ultimately, the RN Charge Nurse is essential in maintaining a safe and efficient healthcare environment that prioritizes patient well-being.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or charge nurse role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in a relevant specialty area (e.g., Critical Care, Emergency Nursing).
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role within a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff on the unit.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, addressing any concerns or issues that arise during shifts.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures.
