Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers an opportunity to lead the pharmacy operations within a closed-door Long-Term Care (LTC) facility, ensuring compliance, high-quality patient care, and operational excellence. The pharmacy manages approximately 600 prescriptions daily using the Frameworks software system (training available). The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills combined with in-depth knowledge of LTC pharmacy practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
- Supervise daily pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing and medication counseling.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances.
- Develop and implement policies to promote safe and efficient pharmacy practices.
- Provide leadership, training, and performance evaluations for pharmacy staff.
- Oversee medication inventory management to optimize levels and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams and insurance providers to resolve medication-related issues.
- Address patient and customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints, ensuring excellent service.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and new medications.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and conduct audits to maintain compliance.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active and clear Massachusetts Pharmacist license.
- 2-4 years of experience in Long-Term Care pharmacy practice.
- Recent pharmacy management experience, preferably within an LTC setting.
- Proficiency or willingness to learn Frameworks software.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, primarily day shift with some evening coverage.
- Weekends as needed.
