Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A School-Based Occupational Therapist is needed to provide specialized OT services to students with disabilities within a special education environment. This role focuses on enhancing students functional, motor, sensory, and adaptive skills to foster independence and improve their educational experience. The therapist will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, and ensure all activities comply with state and federal education regulations.
Location: Reading, PA (positions available in Carbon and Lehigh Counties)
Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Contract Duration: Immediate start through June 12, 2026 (tentative, aligned with the school calendar)
Assignment Type: Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver school-based occupational therapy services tailored to students with disabilities
- Assess student needs related to functional, motor, sensory, and adaptive skills
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other service providers to develop and implement IEP goals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulations
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and support overall student progress
Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy license (required)
- Experience working with students in special education settings
- Proven ability to participate in and contribute to IEP development
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and common office software
