Job Responsibilities

• Warmly greeting parents during drop off and pickup
• Carrying out lesson plans when filling in for a lead teacher
• Following parent instructions, medication administration, child care, and developmental guidelines
• Participating in age appropriate care and play, including, but not limited to floor play, diapering, and bottle feeding
• Completing diaper changes when children are in need of them and at a minimum of every two hours
• Documenting incidents or health concerns with the Director and parents
• Maintaining a tidy and sanitary space in each classroom, including tables, toys, and materials
• Documenting all diaper changes, food / bottles taken, activities, and other aspects of each child’s day
• Supporting the mission of The Ark
• Engaging with children by participating in activities, projects, and bonding activities
• Maintaining a classroom and care environment consistent with Indiana’s child care regulations
• Any other duties deemed necessary by the Director, Assistant Director, or Church Board

Key Working Relationships

• Directly report to The Ark Daycare Admins
• Utilization of Assistant Teacher
• Co-professionals with all teachers at The Ark

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Extended floor crawling and kneeling
• Varied time standing and sitting
• Ability to lift infants in and out of cribs
• Ability to lift small children

Education & Qualifications

• 12 Hours of required online training yearly
• CPR/First aid yearly training (will happen at work)

Pre-employment requirements: Successfully pass Background Check, Fingerprinting, Drug Test & TB Test
