A confidential, well-established manufacturing company specializing in plastic injection molding is seeking an experienced Level III Tooling Technician. This role is critical to maintaining high-precision tooling, ensuring optimal mold performance, and supporting uninterrupted production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tear-down, repair, troubleshooting, cleaning, and preventive maintenance of plastic injection molds
- Diagnose and resolve tooling-related issues to minimize downtime
- Conduct mold modifications and improvements as needed
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to support manufacturing goals
- Ensure molds meet quality, safety, and production standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the tooling department
Required Qualifications - 5+ years of hands-on experience in plastic injection mold maintenance and repair
- Strong troubleshooting skills with complex tooling systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
Preferred Qualifications - Tooling certification or technical training
- Experience with multi-cavity or high-precision molds
- Leadership or mentoring experience within tooling teams
