Job DescriptionRN | Cardiac Medical ICU Overview:

The RN in the Cardiac Medical ICU delivers specialized care to patients in a cardiac intensive care environment, working in close collaboration with various healthcare teams. Key responsibilities include applying nursing processes to assess, evaluate, and ensure high-quality patient care while upholding patient confidentiality and rights. This role necessitates appropriate nursing licensure, life support certifications, and the physical capability to perform demanding clinical tasks throughout shifts.

This role involves utilizing the nursing process to deliver patient care effectively. The RN is accountable for the care provided to assigned patients and assesses the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other caregivers. Coordination of patient care with other departments is essential, along with maintaining patient rights and confidentiality. Responsibilities are carried out in alignment with our mission, values, and service standards.

Position Details:Qualifications:

  • Education: Completion of a nursing program (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
  • Licensure: Must obtain and maintain a current RN license in the state of employment or a compact license, fulfilling all state board of nursing requirements.
  • Experience: Relevant experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
    • Additional certifications may be required based on the specific unit, including but not limited to:
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
      • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
      • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
      • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
      • CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse)
      • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
      • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
      • PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
      • S.T.A.B.L.E. (Six Assessment & Care Modules)
      • C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
      • Other unit-specific certifications as required

Physical Requirements:

  • The role necessitates the ability to regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing and walking are required during each shift.
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat is essential for performing duties.
