We are seeking a Controller who is ready to step beyond the traditional accounting track into a strategic, client-facing role. This position is designed for an individual with a strong technical foundation who is eager to lead client engagements and mentor fellow team members throughout the process. Key Responsibilities

Lead client engagements end-to-end as the primary point of contact, ensuring delivery of high-quality financial reporting, insights, and recommendations

Demonstrate executive presence and confidence in both written and verbal communication, tailoring insights to a client audience that may not be financially technical

Build trusted advisor relationships with client leadership by translating financial data into clear, strategic guidance that drives decision-making

Supervise and mentor the accounting team supporting your group of clients during weekly work and monthly close cycles, including review of senior associates’ and associates’ work

Review and analyze monthly client financial statements and underlying work before client delivery; perform variance analysis and prepare for client discussions

Provide cash-flow guidance and prepare 12-month forecasts when needed

Create, maintain, and refine internal processes and controls for each client engagement

Actively contribute to maintaining accurate books and records for clients in accordance with GAAP or other bases of accounting

Collaborate on internal initiatives, including implementing new accounting standards (e.g., ASC 842 Lease Standard), standardizing charts of accounts, and improving tools and processes.
What We’re Looking For

Minimum of 8-10 years of accounting experience (public or private); client-service or multi-entity experience a plus

CPA or working toward CPA preferred

Strong foundation in GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes

Familiarity with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition and ASC 842 Lease Standards preferred

Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (ProAdvisor), BILL, Google Workspace, and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Slack, ClickUp, and Syft Analytics is a plus

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financials into actionable insights for clients

Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment and work independently with confidence
