Job Description:
This role serves as the requirements engine for a small, AI-forward engineering pod automating partner onboarding and back-office workflows, translating stakeholder needs into clear, buildable requirements that drive meaningful operational efficiencies for the organization.
Job Summary
•Gather and elicit requirements from ops, sales, and engineering stakeholders, including stakeholders who have not yet clearly defined what they need.
•Map and document existing business and product workflows, capturing edge cases and the reasoning behind each step.
•Translate business needs into user stories and requirements that a 3-engineer pod can build from directly.
•Partner closely and continuously with engineering, clarifying and iterating in real time rather than handing off tickets.
•Help scope automations for partner onboarding and back-office processes that are currently manual and repetitive.
•Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, agent frameworks) daily to move faster and surface efficiencies across the workflow.
•Navigate competing priorities between ops, sales, and engineering with clear, calm, and professional communication.
Minimum Requirements:
•1.5 to 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst working within a small team or product-focused tech environment.
•Demonstrated ability to gather, elicit, and document requirements and translate them into user stories or specifications engineering can act on.
•Solid understanding of business analysis processes and product workflow documentation, including capturing edge cases.
•Genuine, hands-on fluency with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or agent frameworks, used actively in day-to-day work, not just surface-level familiarity.
•Comfort working within an Agile or Scrum framework alongside engineers in a tight, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Familiarity with workflow or process automation tools (such as Zapier, Make, n8n, or Power Automate) or low-code/no-code platforms.
•Background in financial services, insurance, fintech, or mortgage industries.
•Experience working closely with a Product Owner or Product Manager and understanding how that function interfaces with engineering and business stakeholders.
•Demonstrated curiosity and experimentation with new AI tools, with the ability to articulate how those tools changed the way the work was done.
