Are you an experienced professional with a background in industrial piping systems and equipment looking to utilize your industry knowledge and communication skills? Our client is seeking a Technical Procedure Writer to join their team and create detailed operating procedures for complex piping systems and equipment. This role provides an excellent opportunity for technical professionals who have hands-on experience with large-scale piping distribution systems, including steam, condensate, compressed air, potable water, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate directly with clients (engineers, operators, and maintenance teams) to gain insight into the design, operation, and maintenance requirements of piping systems and equipment.
  • Review technical documentation, such as P& IDs, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify existing conditions and evaluate system setups.
  • Develop comprehensive operating procedures and manuals using pre-established formats.
  • Coordinate procedure reviews with client teams, addressing feedback and making revisions as needed.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience working with industrial piping systems (e.g., steam, water, compressed air) and mechanical equipment (e.g., boilers, pumps, compressors, valves).
  • Strong ability to interpret system drawings, diagrams, and P& ID documentation.
  • Experience conducting field inspections in industrial environments and assessing conditions of piping and mechanical equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and email communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills for interaction with engineers, operators, and manufacturers.
  • Reliable and consistent work ethic with the ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and adapt to shifting deadlines.
  • Comfortable meeting background check requirements.
