Your Role in Our Success

The Senior Special Assets Loan Officer Specialist serves as a developmental role within the Special Assets team, providing advanced support to Special Assets Loan Officers in the oversight of distressed and non-performing loans. The responsibilities of this position focus on distressed loans, legal and compliance, loan and collateral management, reporting, and internal and external communication and support.


Here’s how you will make an impact:

  • Coordinate with external counsel and other third parties on matters related to special assets.
  • Support the preparation and review of legal documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Review loan and collateral reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain and update loan records in internal systems and databases
  • Act as a point of contact for borrower and credit union communications.
  • Assist with property value assessments and collateral reviews.
  • Prepare memos and requests for borrowers and credit unions, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Assist credit unions with Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) accounting for collateral-dependent loans.
  • Generate, prepare, and distribute monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports for internal models and credit unions
  • Provide direct day-to-day support to Special Assets Loan Officers in managing distressed and non-performing loan portfolios.
  • Assist with tracking loan performance, risk migration strategies, and resolution progress.
  • Maintain organized documentation and workflow processes to support efficient portfolio management.

Requirements:

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Real Estate
  • 5+ years of experience in banking, credit analysis, loan servicing, or portfolio management.
  • Knowledge of distressed loans, credit risk, or special assets strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites; experience with workflows; experience in Fiserv, Abrigo Sageworks, and SBA lending a plus.

  • Compensation: Base compensation for this role ranges from $70,000 - $ $90,000.
