Position Summary:

The Team Leader is a functional role that provides guidance, work levelling, assistance, and leadership to a team of Material Handlers and Drivers. To assure team continuity across all warehouse operations, this position is expected to gain and maintain knowledge of all aspects of Warehouse Operations functional execution with limited exception.

The role works collaboratively with key business partners to ensure timeliness of execution, replenishment, accuracy, condition, and/or other. Interacting with all aspects of STERIS to meet business requirements.

**What You'll Do: **

  • Assure staff remain level loaded throughout the shift, adjusting as needed in areas of assignment.
  • Primary contact point for other functional groups to reduce Specialist distraction.
  • Lead troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Assist in staff assessments, assignments, training plans, and projects.
  • Assist in the development of improvement strategies and execution plans.
  • Support and foster team empowerment and lead by example.
  • Cycle Counting coordination and/or execution.
  • Follow all provided control procedures and policies to complete tasks.
  • Lead engagement activities assuring promotion of a safe work environment.
  • Functionally work within team to complete shop floor execution daily requirements.
  • Lead coordination efforts and flow of product through the areas of report including but not limited to transacting, storage, labelling, movement, packaging, shipment, and return from field and or stock.
  • Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

Skills, Abilities, and Expereince:

Required:

  • Highschool Diploma or G.E.D. equivilant.

  • At least five (5) years of related expereince or disciplines.- Warehouse, production, chemical manufacturing, distribution, etc.

  • Ability to become forklift certified if not currently certified.

  • General proficiencies in Microsoft Office and ERP Systems.

  • A wide and comprehensive knowledge of general and specific aspects of the position and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily required.

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of direct leadership experinence.
  • Previous experience working in ERPs like SAP, Oracle, and/or PRISM.
  • Strong experience using counterbalance, stock picker, reach truck.
  • Certified Forklift Trainer or have completed train the trainer course.
