ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK

TITLE, SALARY & WORK LOCATION:
Accounts Payable Clerk
$23.90 - $26.56 Hourly | Compensation within this range is determined based on the candidate’s experience, education, and degree of alignment with the role requirements

ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a dynamic Accounts Payable Clerk to provide financial, administrative and clerical support to the organization. This person is in charge of reviewing and entering invoices, processing payments owed by the company to suppliers and other creditors, process expense reports, reconciling statements, monitor company accounts to ensure payments are up to date, resolve bill discrepancies, vendor document maintenance, correspond along with vendors and react to inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Support the full cycle of the accounts payable of the company.
- Process and verify invoices for accuracy, appropriate approvals, and compliance with company policies
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and vendor statements
- Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices or receiving orders
- Review invoices and gather proper approvals for payment
- Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices or correspondence necessary for files
- Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments
- Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements
- Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendors
- Entering and verifying employee expense reports
- Responding to vendor enquiries regarding payments
- Maintain copies of W-9s
- Understanding of 1099 processing
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods
- Capacity to operate a computer and other office equipment
- Effective communication skills for team collaboration
- Ability to analyze complex technical information

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A degree is not mandatory
- An understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting skills is required
- Hands-on experience with 3-way matching (matching purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion
- Experience or knowledge of QAD Software is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook

- Knowledge of QAD Software
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent attention to details and organizational skills
- Good leadership abilities
- Strong problem-solving skills
