Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available in Bristol, CT, supporting an elementary Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) self-contained classroom for the 2025/2026 school year. This contract role begins as soon as possible and extends through June 16, 2026, with the possibility of extension until a permanent hire is made.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to elementary students diagnosed with ASD in a self-contained classroom setting
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Monitor student progress and maintain comprehensive documentation
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut Special Education teaching license
- Experience teaching students in grades K-6
- Prior experience working with self-contained ASD classrooms
- Strong skills in classroom management and individualized instruction
- Ability to work onsite in Bristol, CT, full time (35 hours per week, Monday through Friday)
