Job Title: Engineer I – Sustainability & Packaging Operations Analyst (Part-Time)
Location: Clark, NJ (Hybrid)
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $34/hour (W-2)
Schedule: Part-Time (15–20 hours per week)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – Primarily remote with approximately one day per week onsite at the Clark, NJ office.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Engineer I – Sustainability & Packaging Operations Analyst to support sustainability and packaging operations through data analysis, reporting, and coordination of packaging-related initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in packaging engineering, sustainability, or operational data analysis who enjoy working with data and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track and analyze monthly sustainability and packaging KPIs.
- Extract, compile, and maintain data using Power BI and Excel.
- Prepare recurring sustainability reports and performance summaries.
- Coordinate packaging recyclability testing with internal and external partners.
- Track testing requests and maintain related documentation.
- Perform transactional data entry and system updates.
- Calculate Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) fees.
- Maintain accurate documentation supporting packaging sustainability initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Sustainability, or a related technical field.
- 1–3 years of experience in packaging engineering, sustainability, or operational data analysis.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data manipulation, pivot tables, and formulas.
- Experience extracting and analyzing data using Power BI or similar database/reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the cosmetics, consumer goods, or CPG industry.
- Familiarity with packaging sustainability initiatives and recyclability programs.
- Knowledge of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) reporting is a plus.
