ESTIMATED PAY RANGE
$78,000 - $89,000, DOE

JOB SUMMARY
As a Technical Writer in Brooklyn Park, MN, you may: Develop, write, and edit technical documentation, including technical project reports, engineering guidelines, standards, procedures, and related documents, user manuals and installation guides, technical datasheets and product specifications; collaborate with engineering teams to gather technical information and ensure accuracy of content; translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for diverse audiences; review and update existing documentation to reflect product updates, new standards, or process changes relevant to the electrical power sector; manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and project requirements, and work collaboratively with suppliers and other Applied partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Familiarity with engineering processes, electrical power systems, and technical terms relevant to power distribution products
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proficiency in creating clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation for varied audiences
  • Experience with documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or similar
  • Experience with graphic design or visualization tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Visio) is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 10% yearly
  • Must currently reside in an Applied Engineering-designated location; relocation assistance is not available for this position
