We are looking for a Clinical Quality Manager to join our team! This is for our Melville location with training in Jamaica. This person would manage the operations of the medical staff quality programs and process improvements. Ensures compliance with the applicable regulatory guidelines and requirements, state and federal statutes, and Medical Staff Bylaws.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the quality program to query multiple databases for clinical, administrative, peer review, and credentialing data.
  • Manage systematic collection and reporting of select quality indicators. Prepare clear and concise tables and reports.
  • Support the Peer Review Committee with the peer review process.
  • Coordinate outside medical staff reviews when requested.
  • Direct, prepare, and support the medical staff quality programs and process improvements (Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations, Focused Professional Practice Evaluations).
  • Aggregate, analyze, display, present, and maintain physician specific quality data.
  • Support Medical Staff Committees as requested.
  • Assist with continual evaluations and improvements of the medical staff administrative procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and requirements, state and federal statutes, and Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, and policies.
  • Support Joint Commission preparation and continuous readiness.
  • Ensures medical staff adhere to regulatory requirements, such as CMS, DOH, and Joint Commission standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, public health, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting, focusing on quality management.
  • CPHQ, CPCS, or CPMSM certification preferred.
  • Experience with participation in quality improvement teams desired.
  • Ability to travel between sites if necessary
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and quality reporting tools
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to Joint Commission, CMS, State, and patient safety principles required.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with physicians on quality initiatives or programs required.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written, group presentations)
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Understanding of data management and analysis techniques
  • Demonstrated experience with data mining, data analysis and data display
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of the clinical environment required
  • Knowledge of medical staff policies, regulations, and bylaws and the legal environment within which they operate
