JOB SUMMARY
The AVP/VP of Strategic Alliances will spearhead the development of high-impact alliances with both top-tier academic institutions and leading private-sector innovators in health tech, wound care, and biotech. This individual will be responsible for identifying, securing, and nurturing long-term partnerships that drive co-development, research, commercialization, and thought leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong experience bridging academic innovation and private-sector advancement to accelerate the science of healing.
WHAT ARE YOUR ASSIGNMENTS (Roles and Responsibilities)
Strategic Relationship Development

Identify and engage top U.S. universities with strong health tech, wound care, and biotech capabilities

Build, negotiate, and execute institutional partnerships including joint research, technology incubation, and workforce development

Identify and evaluate private health tech, wound tech, and biomedical companies developing innovative medical technologies or protocols
-
Cultivate partnerships with these private-sector organizations to explore co-development opportunities, licensing agreements, clinical integration, and shared innovation labs

Act as executive liaison across universities, startup ecosystems, and corporate partners
Innovation Pipeline & Research Development

Facilitate and co-lead research initiatives that align with company strategy and clinical objectives

Source partnership opportunities that support validation, regulatory readiness, or commercialization of emerging technologies

Manage cross-institutional knowledge transfer to accelerate the adoption of new protocols and therapies
Brand & Ecosystem Engagement

Represent the company across conferences, innovation challenges, venture showcases, and academia-industry consortia

Launch branded research accelerators or innovation centers with strategic partners

Collaborate on curriculum or fellowship programs that promote translational innovation in wound care
Business Alignment & Reporting

Align partnerships with Product, Clinical Affairs, and Commercial teams to ensure measurable ROI

Establish KPIs for partnership value creation, research output, clinical integration, and strategic alignment

Provide regular reports to the executive team on progress, risks, and growth opportunities
WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY ACHIEVED (Qualifications, Hard Skills, Soft Skills)

10+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or academic relations in health tech, biotech, or medtech
-
Demonstrated success forming alliances with both universities and private-sector medical innovators

Understanding of clinical research, FDA pathways, and tech transfer in a medtech or biotech context

Strong executive presence with ability to build trust with academic leaders, founders, and C-suite stakeholders

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MHA, or equivalent) preferred

WORK SCHEDULE/LOCATION
This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States with flexible working arrangements. Some travel may be required for conferences, partnership meetings, and on-site collaborations.
