A healthcare facility in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience for a contract position. This role offers an opportunity to provide focused, 1:1 patient care in a specialized surgical environment supporting adult patients.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering professional nursing care in the CVOR with strict adherence to protocols
- Collaborating with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintaining impeccable sterile technique and equipment handling
- Participating in call rotations every other day and every other weekend
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Active RN licensure with a minimum of 1 year CVOR experience required
- Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIH from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in computerized charting systems, ideally Cerner SurgiNet
- Ability to scrub and circulate during surgeries is a plus
Schedule and work environment:
- Day shifts from 5:45 AM to 2:15 PM, averaging 36 guaranteed hours weekly
- Call duties as specified; weekend call is on rotation
- Strict dress code adhering to navy blue low-lint scrubs; no fleece, t-shirts, or sweatshirts allowed
This contract position serves a modern facility with two designated CVOR rooms and a 24-bed operating room suite. Patient care demands a high level of critical focus and clinical expertise.
