Job Summary: The Radiation Therapist delivers prescribed radiation treatments under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist. This role focuses on accurate patient setup, safe dose delivery, and maintaining high standards of treatment quality and patient care.
Responsibilities
• Set up patients accurately and administer therapeutic radiation treatments per physician prescription.
• Verify treatment parameters, obtain and review port images, and support localization accuracy.
• Perform daily equipment quality assurance and safety checks.
• Maintain accurate treatment documentation and complete chart checks.
• Observe patients during treatment and report adverse reactions or condition changes.
• Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, immobilization devices, and supplies.
• Support student instruction and departmental workflow as assigned.
Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of recent radiation therapy experience – Required
• Experience with Varian TrueBeam technology
• Experience using MOSAIQ EMR
Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiation Therapy – Required
