Job Title: Production Associate – Plastics Manufacturing
Location: West Des Moines, IA
Pay Rate: $16.00–$17.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Production Associate to join our plastics manufacturing team in West Des Moines. This role involves operating and maintaining machinery to produce high-quality plastic parts and products that meet company and customer standards. There is a great chance for advancement for those who show a knack in the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate injection molding, extrusion, or blow molding machines according to SOPs and work instructions.
- Monitor machine performance, temperature, and cycle times throughout production.
- Load raw plastic materials (pellets, resins) into machine hoppers.
- Conduct quality control checks to identify cosmetic defects and verify dimensional accuracy.
- Perform minor machine repairs and troubleshoot issues; escalate major problems to maintenance or supervisors.
- Carry out secondary operations such as trimming, assembling, or packaging parts.
- Complete production reports, logs, and paperwork accurately.
- Package and label finished products per customer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and assist with general housekeeping.
- Follow all safety rules and quality control policies.
- Communicate effectively with team members during shift changes regarding production status and equipment issues.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Experience:
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or factory setting is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic math skills for measurements and counting
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to read and follow instructions and safety guidelines
- Basic computer skills for data entry
- Effective verbal communication skills
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment around large machinery
