Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Seeking a certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support high school students in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, specifically in Plano, TX. This full-time position, with part-time opportunities available, focuses on educating and supporting deaf and hard of hearing high school students with tailored instructional strategies and accommodations. The role offers a dynamic environment within a school setting, providing comprehensive services from Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to high school students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring accessible communication and curriculum modification.
- Collaborate with audiologists and other support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Utilize computer and English language skills to enhance teaching methods and student engagement.
- Monitor student progress and communicate with families and staff regarding educational goals.
- Maintain compliance with state education standards and certification requirements.
Qualifications:
- Active Texas Department of Education certification with authorization to teach high school core subjects.
- Experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students preferred.
- Strong proficiency in computer use and English language instruction.
- Ability to manage a high school caseload effectively.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Position Details:
- Location: Dallas/Fort Worth Area, Plano, TX
- Contract Duration: ASAP through May 22, 2026
- Hours: 35 hours per week, full-time Monday through Friday; part-time positions may be considered.
- Number of Schools Assigned: High School caseload
