Summary

This experienced HVAC-R Technician needs to be competent in installing new HVAC systems and troubleshooting and repairing existing HVAC systems. Must have experience in sheet metal, hydronic, chilled water, and electric systems.

There are full-time and part-time positions available! These positions are located in Guam.

The pay range for this position is $21.91-$30.00/hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)

  • Performing installation of a variety of HVAC systems, including but not limited to conventional split systems, packaged systems, computer room air conditioning units, and systems utilizing variable refrigerant flow technology
  • Performing (predictive, preventive, proactive, and corrective) maintenance and repairs on heating, ventilating air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC-R) equipment
  • Repair leaking, solders, welded joints, mechanical joints, and condenser tube roll joints
  • Understand the proper use of nitrogen during the maintenance and construction of refrigerant-carrying piping
  • Must understand electrical fundamentals and proper meter usage. (e.g. VOM and Amperage)
  • Refrigerant control and maintain EPA air quality standards
  • Understanding of Chilled Water systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalent Degree (GED)
  • Four (4) years of experience as an HVAC Technician
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, ability to operate company vehicles
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of safety management
  • Knowledge of HVAC codes, regulations, best practices, and laws
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and recommend sound solutions to problems of routine nature
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
  • Ability to pass background check for Federal Agency to obtain security access badging
  • United States Citizen or Permanent Resident

        Preferred Qualifications

        • Two (2) years of college level course work or trade school completed
        • Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience as HVAC Technician
        • Electrical License to work on HVAC systems
        • Selected manufacturer certified installer/technician (e.g., Daikin VRF systems)
        • EPA 608 Universal Certification (Minimum of Type I and II)
        • OSHA 10
        • Familiar with control systems
        • Knowledge and experience with Alaska Native cultures

        Physical Demands

        • Frequent lifting, standing, stooping for prolonged periods of time, using hands/fingers requiring dexterity, should have good hand-eye coordination and motion control in coordination with handling tools, equipment, and other related components.
        • Reaching with hands and arms for items above and below sight level, talking, hearing (frequently communicates with field personnel via various modes, i.e., radio; must be able to relay accurate information), and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth, color perception, and the ability to adjust focus); walking from place to place within the project location with occasional use of stairs and no elevator available; bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling and standing for up to 12 hours
        • Frequent lifting of up to 50-75 pounds, such as small electrical components, equipment and other materials

        Work Environment

        May be indoors or outdoors, subject to confined spaces, changes in temperature, weather conditions, and noise levels.

        Work Schedule: Generally, M-F 40 hours, may vary as business needs dictate
